Safety when travelling: how to ease your worries
If you are travelling solo, or even if you are travelling with others, safety when travelling is always a top concern when you are not in your home country. What can you do when you are away that will give you more peace of mind?
I learned a really cool tip that I will be putting in to action on my trips going forward. Safety when travelling is a top priority. When you don’t have someone at home to always keep in touch with, you may be travelling with that person, or you don’t want to be bothering someone every single day while you are away, there is a little trick you can do to ease your brain.
The night before, or even the morning before you leave for the day, leave a little note on the table, bed or somewhere else visible, the list of places you are planning on going that day. You may not know all of them but even having an outline of what you are thinking of the day will be great.
This way if something does happen, there is a list of places that can be used to find you. For instance, if you got into an accident you’d probably be in the closest hospital to the places on your list. You might consider looking up local hospitals or clinics in the area you will be travelling on Google Maps before you arrive so that, in the case of an emergency, you know where to seek help.
Another option is to book our safety check-in program. With this service, we will set up a text/messenger program with you before you leave on your trip to keep in daily contact with you while you are away. If we do not hear from you one day we then begin the process of investigating to get in touch with you.
This is a great way to know someone has your back to sound the alarm when you are not heard from. It is also very beneficial having someone who knows what to do if those alarms need to be investigated. So stay safe out there and if you need those extra safety measures to let your mind rest and enjoy your trip, then make sure you use them.
