How to become a travel pro before you start travelling
Travel is one of those things that the more you do it the better you get at doing it, lucky us. Yes, I know, that goes for pretty much everything, but it can require a lot more confidence to do it compared to other things when travelling independently.
There are all types of travel, and some are much easier to do than others like package tours and cruises, but to get the most out of travel, I really think travelling independently is the way to go. Now you don’t have to do this kind all the time, there is a time and place for cruising and package tours, but I do urge you to try out travelling independently too, you might just surprise yourself.
There are a number of the things that hold people up when they think about taking a trip without “assistance”. How do I get around a foreign city, can I really do this myself and thinking of every worst-case scenario.
When I first started planning my independent travels, I had so many worries, so I scoured blogs and information for months and months before I left. I wanted to find every bit of information that I thought I needed before I left. Not knowing everything I should be looking up is only something that comes with experience. Once I started travelling, though, I learned, made mistakes and learned again.
I would have paid anything to take a course on how to travel independently but I couldn’t find one. To learn the ins and outs and what I should be looking for and what I should be asking would have been invaluable. This would have also saved me so much time as well as money lost on all my mistakes.
This is one of the main reasons why I started this business. I want to help you save time, frustration and money to be able to travel in an incredible way, avoiding costly mistakes, and to have a stress free vacation while feeling like a travel pro.
Taking an online travel course lets you learn at your pace, make sure you have all your ducks in a row, because you’ll now know what ducks to put in that row. It will also build your confidence because you will know you’ve planned things correctly and you’ll know how to handle any thing that goes wrong.
Yes, you may still make mistakes, but that is all of the learning process. I have been travelling for years and I still make mistakes. I’ve jumped on the wrong train, and got turned around in a new place, but the difference now is I don’t start to immediately panic, I know what I can do to rectify the situation and move on with my trip.
Taking an online course also lets you learn in your sweatpants. If you only have 10 minutes to spare a day, you can watch 10 minutes worth, so you don’t have to dedicate time you may not have. You can also go back and re-watch to remember what didn’t sink in the first time.
It may not be the first thing you think of to learn from an online course, but trust me, the amount of time that it will save you from searching things on your own on Google will be worth it alone. You will quickly realize how overwhelming it becomes doing the research yourself as everyone has an opinion on travelling and there are a million opinions. Also if you don’t know what all you should be looking for, how do you know to look for some important things? This will take the guess work out of figuring it out yourself so you can travel like a pro from the get go.
If you want to become a travel pro, I invite you to check out my online courses so you are ahead of the game before you even get started.

[…] All this planning can happen now, even if we are not travelling far and wide currently. When you find photo locations make folders in Pinterest, in Google Docs, and on your phone of the ideas and locations you want to photograph in future trips. There is nothing better for your wanderlust spirit than planning elements of trips to come and aspire towards. Plus planning these types of things far in advance reduces the amount of overwhelm you can feel when you plan your trips. […]
